I am an author, editor, and professor, hoping to change the world.

I was born and raised in Southern California. I’ve always had an interest in writing; in high school, I would write short stories that were heavily influenced by the literature I was reading at the time. I was also an artist with a good eye for drawing.

In college at the University of California, Irvine, I decided to major in English, and from then on I developed a real solid love of literature. I pursued a master’s degree at Rutgers, Newark, and then my doctorate in English at the University of Tulsa. My dissertation focused on modernism and the spy novel.

I was an editor for the James Joyce Quarterly for four years during my graduate degree. I’ve always had a knack for editing, and even in college I’ve acted as a consultant on novels, like Jennifer Latham’s Scarlett Undercover (2015) among others. I love reading, writing, and editing, so let my experience help you in getting where you need to go!
